Look At The Drawbacks of Cheaper Car Insurance

By Susan Reynolds

Car insurance can be a very tedious task. There are a lot of fraudulent companies out there waiting to take advantage of their next victim. Due to today's economy people are always looking for deals. Thus gullible people fall into the traps of these insurance companies. Follow these guidelines and suggestions and you will not become a victim of a car insurance pitfall.

Primarily you should find out what the car insurance dealer is willing to tell you and this is usually quite a bit. The first claim that you will hear from almost all of them is that they are the cheapest then the rest of the companies around. To prove this some will even tell you that they will match a lower quote. Some claim, that they offer free car rental after you are in an accident. They may also tell you that they have benefits like free road side assistance when your car breaks down. In the fine print of the contract you will discover a lot of the things they don't tell you, for example, the free items mentioned earlier. It all sounds like a great deal but it is too sweet to be digested! Let?s go on and see what they are not telling you and how to avoid it.

Most of the time they don't discuss the fine prints. Most of the false claims are listed here and they do not want them to be brought into the conversation. There is a lot of scamming going on in today's world and you need to be careful. If your payment is real low but the coverage is really high there could be something hidden. This happens to be the most common way of enticing the customers. So talk to your friends and your family and see what kind of coverage they have. For example, what is the bodily coverage, what is the coverage for under insured motorists and most importantly what the deductible is. These are all things you need to know before you buy the insurance to avoid scams.

How do you avoid the pitfalls or become the next victim? You should begin by shopping around. Approach as many companies as you can, and try to get their quotes. Running a business through the Better Business Bureau will give you valuable information. If there are any negative comments about processing claims you should consider your options.

Consider the coverage offered and the level of your deductible. Check to see if there are any negative results concerning processing claims of the company. Sometimes, though even good companies can have a grumpy customer now and then. Get quotes from several different companies before you decide on any one of these companies. Before you sign take a look through the whole contract, including the fine print. Often times the things the dealer does not tell you what is there in the fine print.

A timely research with an open mind and alertness will go a long way. You will not be getting into trouble with the car insurance agents. The bottom line is that you should opt for car insurance agencies that have established names.

The Advantages Of One Way Car Rentals

By Anne Durrell

A lot of car rental businesses offer one way car rentals that give us the alternative of driving to our end and then simply turn the rental car back over to the company we rented it from.

If you need to move the house, renting one way car rental can save you a great deal of time and money, or maybe you are going across the country of going to visit another state and need to hire a vehicle to reach your destination but then you do not need the car to go back.

Most one-way car rental companies will put some restrictions, which you have to stick to. However, one way car rentals are really a deal you make with the rental company.

You can pay one-way car rentals you make with either a big deposit or a major credit card. The good thing is that, any deposit you set down will be returned to you once you turn the car back over to their company.

Not all car rental companies offer one-way car rental, so perhaps you need to do a lot of footwork to get one who does in your local area.

Most countries around the world offer one way car rentals. They certainly are readily available across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

You easily book your car rental online, twenty four hours a day. Usually you are allowed to pick up your rental car the same day that you book.

Beware of hidden expenses when you make one way car rentals. Remember that no matter where you drop the car off, that the company is going to have to return the car to the original place that you picked it up.

For this, of course, costs time as well as money and the car rental company is going to pass that cost onto you in some form or another.

Make sure carefully read the rental terms before purchasing any rental car. You are very lucky if you can find a company that offers free drop-off rates if you check around well.

Beware if you get a deal that sounds to be too good to be true. Unfortunately, there a lot of scam care rental sites on the internet. So, make sure to check for their phone number as well as location and address of the car rental company.

Renting a car is not a difficult task. Just take sometimes to shop around a little bit before committing to any car rental company to get the lowest rate possible, and also remember to thoroughly check out the car rental company before paying any amount of money.

Car Insurance Advice for Young Drivers

By Tom Martens

One of the biggest days in a teen?s life is the day they earn their driver?s license. But with that little piece of plastic comes tremendous responsibility. It is important to make sure that, as a newly licensed driver, you have proper car insurance coverage.

Car insurance for teens is usually very expensive. That's because teens, lacking driving experience, tend to get into many more crashes. They are considered high-risk. That fact should not stop any teen from getting a license, however, because with a little planning teens who drive can almost always find ways to lower their car insurance premiums.

The first thing a teen driver needs to do is to get several quotes. These quotes should come from licensed insurance providers. Different companies define teenage risk in different ways, which means one company may charge you a lot while another company may only charge you a little. There is a lot of competition in the insurance trade, and an insurer who knows you are talking to a competitor, might, just might, be willing and able to offer you a lower premium. But you have to ask, and you have to be willing to negotiate. Fortunately, the Internet makes doing insurance research and shopping for premiums a lot easier than it used to be.

If you haven't already, look into taking basic driver education and/or defensive driving. Taking and passing these courses shows insurers that you are serious about driving safely. It allows them to rate your policy as a lower risk, and keeps your insurance costs down, usually about 10%. Talk to an agent about which courses are available to qualify you for a safe driver discounts.

Ask your agent if your company offers discounts to good students or students belonging to a club or organization. See if they extend a discount if your parents belong to a club or organization. Inquire about other possible discounts. This is where it's helpful to check on the net before you see your agent.

If your parents have additional insurance policies, such as home or life, see if they will ask the insurance provider to bundle the policies. Many providers often give big discounts to customers who purchase more than one insurance policy from them. Check to see if the insurance provider offers discounts for multiple drivers from the same household. This is another way to obtain great savings on your car insurance premiums.

If you are a newly licensed teen driver or will earn your driver?s license soon, contact a qualified insurance provider. They can answer whatever questions you may have about car insurance, examine your specific situation closely and make insurance recommendations so that you are properly insured and protected behind the wheel. It will take some time, effort and research, but you could end up saving a lot of money on your insurance premiums, which makes the investment worth it.

How Do You Settle with Rental Car Damages?

By Amy Nutt

Receiving damage to a car that you have rented can be a very stressful experience. Those who do not have the appropriate collision and liability insurance can find themselves in the middle of a serious financial crisis. When settling car rental damages, there are a number of considerations that one should be aware of to ensure a trouble free resolution.

When you rent a car, you will usually have insurance through your own car insurance policy, or insurance that is available through your credit card, or you will have obtained insurance through the car rental company. It is important to be aware of the limitations that may be attached to a credit card's car rental insurance policy. As well, some rental car insurance policies will include comprehensive coverage, but there may be limits imposed on what and how much they will cover.

The process of submitting a claim requires completing a number of actions as outlined in your insurance policy. The process can vary, but generally, you need to do the following:

1. If your insurance is provided either by your credit card company, rental car insurance company, or your own car insurance company, you will have to contact them directly.

2. Each company will have their own form that you will have to fill out. You will have to send the form and all appropriate documents to the company. Some insurance companies have online forms that can be downloaded and filled out.

3. To claim for loss or damages to the rental car, you will need to provide the following:

Proof of the rental agreement. (submitting a copy) Rental car inspection report prior to renting the car. This includes the walk around report that the car rental companies use to identify any scratches, dents, and other damages before you rented the car. A copy of the police report A copy of the damage inspection after the car was returned to the rental company A copy of the repair invoice or damage estimate from the rental agency. It will include an itemized repair list A receipt for repairs

4. To pursue your claim for losses resulting from rental car damage, you will be provided with a contact mailing address where you mail your claim. Once costs and damages have been determined, the insurance company will provide the coverage.

There may possibly be a dispute over repair charges. An insurance company has the right to send a claims adjustor to inspect the damaged car before it is repaired or disposed of. If you don't have insurance, a rental company can make repairs without an inspection. It is important to be aware that if you are not adequately covered, you may incur some expenses. Some rental car agreements may require that one reimburses for the full value of the car. You should check to make sure you have the appropriate coverage. As well, some agreements require immediate reimbursement for damages, so they may immediately charge your credit card.

There may be other expenses that you are not covered for that can include: administrative fees, towing expenses, storage fees, and inspection and appraisal fees. It is important to read the fine print of your insurance policy to make sure you are comfortable with your coverage.

Purchasing the right insurance for a rental car can make all the difference if you suddenly find yourself in a potentially expensive car accident. When you pick up your car from the car rental company, make sure you inspect the exterior for damage. Being prepared will provide you with peace of mind when you are on the road. In the event of an accident, it will be a lot less stressful if you know exactly what steps have to be taken to settle any damages.

Everything About One Day Auto Insurance

By Theodore Hoffstrader

One day car insurance is an affordable insurance coverage that protects a person effectively for a short term against any loss incurred in cases such as being involved in car accidents. This type of car insurance coverage is often taken by those who drive a car while traveling.

As is always the case when shopping for car insurance, this can be a daunting process; going through the numerous offers and deciding on the right insurance package can take days or weeks of research. However, it is important to compare multiple quotes. As mentioned in other articles, this can be easily done online.

Why do people obtain one day insurance?

There are many situations where people simply do not utilize their cars often. In fact, in certain big cities having a car is often a hassle. When this is the case, people frequently feel there's no need to possess car insurance at all.

That being said, when using a car even for short periods of time, it is essential that the driver be protected by a type of insurance. This can save him or her the painful realization that they have incurred huge expenses if they are involved in a car accident.

In general, it can be said there are two situations where one may require a one day auto insurance policy.

In the first scenario, people who get one day car insurance simply dont possess a car and only require insurance for short amounts of time when using a rental car or a friends car. In this case, this is really the best alternative.

The second situation deals with people who simply try to save money on car insurance. This is normally the case when they do not use their car often (which can happen if they live in a big city, or have more than one car).

In both situations, the wise course of action would be to enroll in a one day car insurance plan whenever the car is utilized instead of paying a yearly premium. That being said, if the car is used often, then using this type of car insurance is not the smartest choice.

The car recovery service will often have to bear witness to the gruesome aftermath of many car accidents. They also have to contact the individual or their families and invite them to come and retrieve any person items or things in the vehicle they may wish to have or need.

Most of the time, it is not a regular tow truck services that removes the cars involved in the accident. However it does make it easier to clear a wreckage when your truck has cranes and was built to handle cars that have flipped or are mangled. This is where the tow truck shines in comparison to everyday cars and trucks.

Also, when searching for the right service to use if you should ever be in need, make sure it is a company you have took some time to look into and weight their credentials against other services around town. Some have guaranteed service in damage control of the cars they recover or the efficiency in which they work in order to retrieve them. The last thing you need is your car still sitting along some highway when it was promised to be taken to the shop the day before.

Making sure that the service you have chosen works around the clock and on weekends and holidays would be a great option, because most of us don't contemplate car breakdowns or accidents and what we would do if it should happen to us. Having a company already implemented or chosen for just such a situation can make for a secure piece of mind.

Overview Of Car Insurance

By Susan Reynolds

In today?s world, nobody is safe anywhere as we see numerous natural calamities creating unfriendly driving situations. Accidents are common and so are the rates of fatalities. In such circumstances, we cannot emphasize enough the importance of having a car insurance to protect ourselves and the lives of people around us. Besides this, it is important to protect our cars also, as a large part of our income goes towards buying a car we desire.

These days it is very easy to get car insurance as there are so many insurance companies providing different types of covers for the car. The best way to find the right car insurance company for yourself is to first find out about all the vendors in the market, compare their rates and also see the different kind of covers they provide for the car. This way you will be able to find the most competitive rates and the maximum covers of insurance.

The kind of indemnity you want the insurance policy to cover is entirely your choice and is dependent on many aspects such as age and sex of the driver, cost of the car etc. The insurance on used cars is much less as compared to new cars. This is because the value of the car reduces every year and the value of used cars is much lower than that of a new car.

The insurance provided on the car covers different aspects. The essential part is that you must have at least the normal insurance which covers accidents and natural disasters, (this insurance saves money and cut costs). All extra covers can be added on later depending on your budget and the reasons at that time. Extra covers may be associated with aspects of the car which provide extra convenience or safety for the driver. For example if you want to get the Global Positioning System of your car to be insured, you will have to pay extra money. Alternatively, if you have installed a high quality sound system or MP3 player in your car and want to get it insured, this will also be at a higher premium.

Also, you must not lend your car to too many people to drive it as the chances of accident are even higher. Although people may have a valid license, you should refrain from giving your car to anybody else since the car is not theirs they will not be held responsible for anything that happens to the car.

Therefore, before buying a car, think about whether you are going to behave like a responsible driver or not. As a car is an item of luxury and makes our life very convenient; it has to be maintained carefully and additionally the law has to be respected. So always keep your insurance up to date to shield your loved ones and most importantly yourself.

Audi, surprisingly, will set you back the greatest amount each year in both the large and midsize passenger car categories. The popular Cadillac Escalade EXT, categorized as a truck in this survey, seems almost modestly priced at $ 1,592 per year.

You can insure the large BMW 5 Series Sports Wagon for a reasonable rate of $1,153. This vehicle is categorized as part of the Large Van and Wagon Group. Another vehicle from this same group is the Chevy Uplander which actually has the cheapest car insurance premiums of any vehicle on the list at $831 per year.

Inexpensive Car insurance - At what Liability Limit?

By Joseph Welusz

The amount of insurance you will need will always be determined to late, once you have an accident. To try to understand how to protect yourself, you first need to know what your liability insurance will cover. It is always broken up in two parts bodily injury and property damage liability.

Bodily Injury liability includes the injury that are suffered due to on automobile accidents.

1. Emergency aid at the scene

2. Medical bills due to injuries

3. Money for lost wages

4. Death benefits

5. Legal defense fees and/or bail bonds for anyone listed on your policy

Property Damage Liability covers the damage that is sustained in an accident:

1. Property damage to houses as other buildings

2. Money to fix or replace other non-moving objects

3. Vehicle repair or replacement costs

So, what coverage limit are right for you? Every state compiles there minimum guidelines individually. 15,000/30,000/15,000 is the minimal norm but that may vary from state to state so check your state guidelines. You might have noticed that there are three coverage figures and not two. This is because bodily injury liability usually comes in a split limit unless you request a single limit of coverage.

Split Limit coverage: Limits are split into two for bodily injury coverage and then there is a separate coverage for property damage. If you take the example from above $15,000/$30,000 coverage, the $15,000 represents the total amount of bodily injury coverage that will be paid out to any one person during an accident. The $30,000 represents the total amount of bodily injury coverage that will be paid out for the entire accident. If you had a single limit of coverage it would include a maximum to be paid out but no individual maximum and it could be divided however needed.

The last number in your liability coverage is always your property damage limit in the above cast is was also $15,000.

By this point you could probably sue how state limits that are usually 15,000/30,000/15,000 might not be adequate coverage. With medical cost and the price of automobiles and property rising you might want to consider higher limits.

I would suggest never having coverage less than $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury and $50,000 property damage with even higher coverage recommended. The cost to go from $15,000/$30,000 to $100,000/$300,000 or even higher shouldn't be more than a couple of hundred dollars a year at most. I would rather spend a couple hundred dollars more per year than be stuck owing thousand due to medical bills for a person that I injured in an accident. When talking with your insurance agent always get quotes with higher liability limits so you can compare the different prices between coverage. If you need to off set cost a little and you are getting full coverage consider having a higher collision deductible, but insurance cost savings is another topic to be written about later.

You would be wise to consult a professional when deciding how much insurance you should purchase for your young driver.

The state minimum coverage is the least expensive. While it may sound like a good deal, if the vehicle you are trying to insure has a lien on it, then you will be required to carry full coverage. Once the vehicle has been paid off the bank will lift the lien and you can drop the coverage to the minimum if you would like.

Make sure you speak with your teen about who will be responsible for the insurance bill. If you are expecting your 17 year old to pay for their own insurance, then you need to tell then just how expensive 17 year old car insurance can be. It is important to make sure that they will have the money to pay it every month. It is also important to explain to your teen the consequences if they don't pay it. In many states you can lose your license for driving uninsured.

Family and friends will be able to give you advice on purchasing 17 year old car insurance if you talk to them. If they have teenagers ask them who they bought their insurance through. You may find out about a really great deal just by word of mouth. Most people will be happy to tell you about their experiences with different insurance companies.

Getting your 17 year old car insurance should be fairly easy. If you shop around you will be sure to get the best rate on the insurance that you need.

Methods which you can Use to Decrease your Insurance Excess

By Graham McKenzie

If you drive a car and have insurance then you probably want to find a way to reduce your excess. Excess is the money which you have to come up with out of your own pocket if you ever need to make a claim for any reason. This amount can vary widely depending on many factors and some people feel that there is no good way to reduce it. Despite this, there are methods which exist that can help to not only reduce your excess but also reduce your monthly premium.

The most common factor which leads to a high excess is the insurance premium. This is the amount which is paid out each month in order to keep the car insurance. Typically the more you pay out in your premium the lower your excess will be. Despite this fact it is often considered unwise to raise the premium just to reduce the excess. This is due to the fact that in most situations the higher premium over the course of time will far outweigh the cost of the excess should you ever have to file a claim on the policy.

For parents who have student drivers or for students themselves, one great method to reduce your excess and your monthly premiums is to get good grades in school. By receiving consistent good grades in school you are effectively demonstrating to the insurance companies that you are responsible and that you have goals. Insurance companies have found that responsible people in life are far more likely to be responsible while driving. For this reason most insurance companies offer a good grade deduction.

The most considerable thing you can do to help bring your excess down over time is to be a safe driver. While it is understandable that not all accidents that people are involved in are caused by them the vast majority are. By practicing safe driving habits every time you are behind the wheel of your car you reduce your odds of being involved in any form of collision or receiving a traffic ticket considerably. Over time you will be able to prove to the insurance company that you are in fact a safe driver and this can lead to a lower excess.

One area where many people fail to save all they can is failing to bring all the information to the insurance company. Many factors can lead to a lower premium and a lower excess. These include but are not limited to things such as having a good work history, being married, having children and even having a good credit history. All of these things have one thing in common and that is that they demonstrate responsibility and maturity. This in turn leads the insurance company to view you as less of a liability which in turn leads to better premiums and excess.

The most important thing you can do to reduce your insurance company is to shop around when you are looking for an insurance policy. There are many different insurance companies and they all offer similar services at different rates. Not only can this often lead you to getting a better insurance premium and a lower excess but it can also help to ensure that you have a reputable insurance company that will be there for you if you ever need them.

If you are looking to acquire a reasonably priced insurance policy with your new car, it is important to know what cars have the best rates.

The nonprofit public service organization, The Highway Loss Data Institute, (HLDI) is a group that assesses vehicles for the insurance industry to find out which cars are a high risk. By high risk, they mean cars that are most likely to be stolen, involved in an accident as the result of a collision, and have a high number of injury claims filed. When assessing the risk of theft, the organization will look at such as aspects as the number of doors a car has as well as the color of the car.

The HLDI has found that "four door cars have a 93% less chance of having a claim related to theft than 2-door cars of the same make and model." As well, a report by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) found that "cars that have the least claims filed for theft include the Buick LeSabre, Volvo V70 Station Wagon, and the Mercury Grand Marquis."

Vehicle Models with some of the least expensive injury claims include:

- GMC Sierra 2500 2-wheel and 4 wheel drives - Chevrolet Silverado - GMC Yukon XL 1500 4-wheel - Chevy Tahoe 2-wheel

Car Insurance Ladies - Why It's Different From a Regular One

By Enrico Medina

Ladies benefit more from car insurance companies as they are considered as much less risky drivers. Though we have to be clear on one thing, statistics show that lady drivers do get into as much accidents as men do. However, the amount of damage done to the car is much less therefore cheaper to repair.

Before, ladies were considered a higher risk than men. It was assumed than men are better drivers and get into car accidents less. Until recent statistics popped up and disproved this theory. Yes there maybe more lady drivers involved in accidents, but these are just minor and seldom result into a total wreck.

Men, being bore aggressive and risky drivers often induce their can into heavier damage. Ladies are more prone to minor scratches, little bumps here and there and some don't ever involve other cars but rather immobile objects like walls and posts.

Any normal car insurance company or companies that focus on women's policy will most likely offer discounter prices for ladies car insurance. There are a lot of companies that offer this so it is advisable to shop around for the best offer.

There are a couple of sites out in the internet which lists a couple of these insurances so the general public can make a good and sound decision.

Ladies, as statistics show often drive fewer miles as compared to men and are less likely to get into car accidents. This gives them the advantage when haggling for premiums, and in most cases will get discounts or freebies. Also with them driving fewer miles as compared to men, their cars are more often than not in better condition.

When it comes to general neatness, ladies are more often than not, more organized compared to men. Their cars are then less prone to useless repairs and results to cheaper bills overall.

This type of insurance is only for the ladies by the way. They can get cheaper insurance for their cars since overall, women are less risky for insurance companies which benefits both parties.

They are less likely to have an accident, which means they are also less likely to file large monetary claims from the insurance company. If the insurance company can save money, that means you can as well with cheap ladies car insurance.

What To Do If Your Car Breaks Down

By Amy Nutt

When your car breaks down, it is never a fun experience. It has happened to just about everyone at one time or another. No one wants to be in that situation but there are steps you can take to help you get through it, particularly if you are not a member of an auto club. If you have a membership to an auto club then you simply need to call them for roadside assistance. It is said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Therefore, especially if you have to handle a breakdown yourself, it is best to be prepared. Have everything in your car that you may need if you get stranded somewhere. If possible, the first thing you should do is pull safely over to the side of the road.

- Cell phone: You are never going to appreciate having a cell phone more than you will if your car breaks down. If you have a cell phone you can call a service station and at least get a tow, if possible. If that is not possible, you can at least call someone to pick you up.

- Flashlight: The possibility always exists that your car can break down while you are driving at night. If it does, you will want to have a flashlight handy. - Reflective warning triangles: These will help protect you and your vehicle in case of a breakdown. Once you are over to the side of the road, turn on your hazard lights to alert traffic that may be headed your way.

Once you do this, follow these tips

- Enter and exit your car using the door that is furthest away from traffic.

- Place at least 2 reflective triangles behind your car and one in front of your car. Place the farthest one approximately 50 feet behind your car.

- If possible, move away from the car to make your phone calls and also have your passengers move away from the car.

- Call a tow truck, a ride, or the police. It is only natural to worry about your car but the first priority is your safety and your passengers safety.

Most importantly, dont panic. If you are not in a familiar area or you are travelling and do not know who to call, contact the police. These are very stressful situations and there is no need to try to handle them alone under these conditions. Keep the priorities straight. Ensure the safety of yourself and your passengers first and then the protection of your car. The car can be replaced, a human life cannot.

If you have ever had a car break down, you are well aware of the benefits of having an auto club membership. More than anything else (and there is a lot) they provide you with peace of mind. Breakdowns happen, just make sure you know how to stay safe when they happen.

The Reasons Behind The History of Car Insurance

By Marcus Worthon

Being one of the most popular and most sought after insurances in the world, car insurance is definitely one of the most talked about insurance policies as well. Be it the Us, Europe or Asia, it is mandatory by law, for people driving cars on public roads to own car insurance.

According to the history books, the very first documented proof of car insurance (in fact, vehicular insurance) can be found in ancient China. During the times when the west had started establishing trade colonies all along the Chinese border, instances of cargo ships being hijacked or lost were reported to be on a rise.

Most of the cargo that was shipped in these cargo ships belonged to wealthy traders of England and it is the clan of these traders only who rolled out insurance policies to safeguard their ships against potential maritime dangers.

Policy makers in the US were strictly bent towards the idea that if you own a vehicle and drive it on public roads, you ought to have car insurance in order to prevent damage to any third parties. It was this thought process that made the ownership of car insurance mandatory in the US and in the rest of the world as well.

Policy makers from all over the world (especially those from the US) were bent on the fact that owning a vehicle and driving it on public property (roads are, by law, property of the public) is not a right, but a luxury and therefore, it became all the more important for car owners to get their vehicles insured. Car insurance was also deemed elementary to safeguard the interests of third parties who might get incur losses during an accident on the road.

Although, the first law making making car insurance mandatory for car owners in the US came as late as 1927, a lot had been done in this field. Policies pertaining to vehicular insurance came into being in the early 18th century and it was in 1898, that Dr. Truman J Martin rolled out the first car insurance policy that covered liabilities as well. This was not the first such policy in the world, though. In 1895, a British insurance company had done the same. With the number of cars in the world rising at a staggering rate, the number of road accidents has also increased manifold and laws pertaining to making car policies have been accepted all over the world with arms wide open.

This can be a great way for beginners to learn what they need to know but it also can be costly if they are paying per lesson and they require quite a few lessons.

When Is The Time To Get Commercial Car Insurance for Your Business?

By Susan Reynolds

There are essential issues that we have to resolve when we are deciding on the appropriate car insurance that we have to get to protect our business interests. Your decision will be influenced by the ability of your business to cope with fortuitous events that result not only to damages to your company vehicles but also with adverse claims for damages on the properties and bodily injuries suffered by a third party.

There are plenty of things that you have to consider when you are going to decide on the liability coverage and the premiums that you are going to pay for the specific car insurance policy. In some instances, you also have to decide if the present car insurance policy that you have is adequate in terms of the protection cover that it provides.

Companies that extensively use vehicles in their operations are expected to maintain comprehensive commercial car insurance policy with sufficient coverage for liabilities on both bodily harm and properties.

The decision is motivated by the degree of protection that the company would like to have in order to safeguard its assets and other company investments. You will have to decide on a lot of things when you going to take out a commercial car policy. These include the liability coverage, the premium payment cap and the payout range that will be required by your company.

Contrary to common belief, the car insurance policies for small and home-based business enterprises are not as simple as we might want to believe. A conventional personal car policy may not be sufficient in the protection cover that it provides if you are using your car for business-related activities. Such poor judgment on your part can even bring irreparable harm to your business when faced by an imminent adverse claim for damages to properties and injuries of affected third parties. It is highly recommended that you apply for suitable commercial car insurance with the basic liability coverage.

You have to consult your car insurance agent when it comes to the appropriate commercial car insurance policy for your business. This complicated process will require your action on the various aspects of the protection coverage that will be required by your business. The extent of coverage is influenced by the degree of protection that your company will require. Nonetheless, your policy is required by law to include coverage for liability to third party claims for damages to property and bodily harm.

You will also have to discuss with your insurance agent additional coverage that will address other concerns like collision, medical expense and motorists with no protection cover. The degree of protection that you need will be dependent on how well your company will be able to cope and respond to adverse claims made by an affected third party on damages to properties and bodily harm. In such instances, the commercial car insurance policy with a larger payout may be chosen by the company in order to protect its assets and other interests.

Using Your Car For Business or Personal

By Graham McKenzie

There are not many people that would argue that business use is different than personal use. The thing that most people struggle with is the difference between the two. Being that car insurance is a very important aspect in our lives; we need to know what constitutes business use and what determines personal use.

Liability is the first distinct difference. In a personal policy, you are liable for yourself and any other driver in your household. On a business policy, you are liable for yourself and every employee that is able to drive. The difference between the two in this case is the fact that most people trust their family more. Moreover, your family has you best interest in mind where employees do not. Most business choose to pull the persons driving record before hiring them in the case they will need to drive. Adding a person with a bad driving record will increase your rates significantly.

Business insurance versus personal car insurance varies by what you are going to be using your vehicle for. An example of business use would be transmitting items or hauling items to a different location that you would not be doing personally. In fact, this is business activity. There are business polices that directly deal with this type of situation; thereby making it more flexible of a policy.

The use for business and the use for personal can sometimes get confusing. This is why it is imperative that you use some kind of tracker. In more recent times, many people turn to a computerized log do keep track of miles and gas. This helps keep the lines between personal and business clear.

As always, a separate business policy is always recommended over a joint policy. There are many liabilities that come with business and to place your personal use in the middle is not often a good idea. If you are going to proceed using a personal policy for limited business use, you will need to contact the company you are insured with immediately and let them know. This will help prevent any claims being turned down in the event that something happens and you are using it for business use.

Realtors, Regional Directors and salesman all fall into the classification of often forgetting to note they use their car for business use. This is because some people have a road block do to the fact they do it every day. Any time a person drives to a meeting, property or a house or business for a potential sale, they are using their car for purposes that constitute business. This is the type that needs to be noted under a personal policy.

Never be challenged later down the road with not having adequate coverage or being denied a claim because you did not inform the insurance company of your situation. Talk to an agent and get the best deal.

Tips On Finding Cheap Auto Insurance

By Joseph Welusz

Finding cheap auto insurance can help you save hundreds of dollars each year. Many individuals tend to stay with the auto insurance company that they already use but it is possible to find better rates. There are four steps you can take to get cheap auto insurance and they include shopping around, checking for discounts, reducing coverage on older vehicles and selecting a higher insurance deductible.

To compare which auto insurance is the least expensive you will need to shop around and compare different companies. Purchasing inexpensive auto insurance does not mean you should be getting bad insurance or auto insurance that is similar to having no insurance at all.

It is good to know how long it takes for a claim to be processed and when you can expect to receive payment. You want to choose cheap auto insurance but you still want to have a good insurance policy. You should not get a cheap insurance policy if it is bad insurance no matter how inexpensive the cost.

It is possible to find discounts without changing your auto insurer. If you have any negative points on your driving record you can get rid of some by taking a defensive driving course. The less points you have then the less your auto insurance will cost. it also may turn out to be less expensive to install a car alarm as you frequently will find companies providing discounts to those with ant-theft devices on their car.

The amount of your deductible will affect the cost of your auto insurance. Most auto owners chose a low deductible so that when they make a claim they will have to pay very little from their own pocket. If you have a higher deductible and higher collision then you can significantly decrease the premium you are saving each year, it is possible to save up to $1,000 each year.

Older cars may not need to have complete coverage, as the cost of the coverage may actually be more then the value of the car. You will need to compare how much you are spending on auto insurance to the market value of the car. It your insurance is more then the value of the car you should look to eliminating your collision or comprehensive coverage. You can even get rid of both.

Commerical Vehicle Insurance - Buy Auto Insurance Online

By Matt Hellstrom

Getting commercial vehicle insurance is a necessary expense for any business that uses vehicles for commercial purposes. Unlike regular auto insurance, commercial insurance for vehicles is used not for private purpose but strictly for business. This is to protect against accidents, theft, fire incident or liability that may be incurred in an accident during the normal course of business.

The prospect of obtaining commerical vehicle insurance can be daunting, but there are numerous options available to cover most contingencies. Needless to say, some locations are at higher risk for loss or damage, but any proposal for insurance coverage should define what factors are taken into consideration.

For businesses that are involved in principally conveying goods or transporting people, commercial vehicle insurance for carriers is imperative. Getting professional guidance for insurance on this type of business is essential to protect not only your assets, but to guard against unforeseen issues that give rise to claims for loss or damage.

Basically, there are some factors to be considered before choosing which insurance policy is appropriate. They include the following: issues pertaining to who owns or leases the vehicle- you individually or the business as an entity, who will drive it and the use to which the vehicle is put. Commercial insurance policies allow you to list employees as drivers so that the insurance company can properly underwrite the risk on the vehicle.

If you are hauling cargo, it is necessary to know if the goods are in the category of chemicals which might be hazardous or otherwise highly flammable. Will it be long distance or local use? The type of vehicle in use here determines the price or rather the cost of insurance policy premiums.

It should be noted that commercial auto insurance prices and policies will differ with vehicle types, usage and classifications. A look at what the commercial vehicle insurance covers would give commercial vehicle owners insight to its necessity. The insurance needs to cover liability for each driver as well as collision damage and even comprehensive coverage (covers damage due to theft, fire, or glass breakage) for each vehicle. Also bodily injury and liability, property damage and liability, motor truck cargo and medical payments are necessary components.

You'd be in for a rude awakening if you forego proper commercial vehicle insurance on a vehicle used for commercial purposes. Insurance is one area of your business you should never skimp on. The potential for disaster is too great, both in the sense of liability for damages or injury and the loss of a business asset.

Things To Know About Teenage Driving

By Nathan Lewit

Getting your license as a teenager was one of the greatest achievements that many of us can remember. It still is a memorable thing, but not quite in such a great way as it was in the past. Now teenage driving is associated with being one of the leading causes of teen deaths.

The lack of experience that they have driving is believed to have a huge bearing on this issue. There are now plans that have been implemented in an effort to bring these numbers to a much lower level.

Teens that are at the point of getting their license are being highly encouraged to take driver's education courses in an effort to prepare them more for what is in store for them when they do hit the open road. They teach about car safety and rules that must be abided by, and they do so both in a class setting as well as in an actual vehicle. This is a great start for teens but the learning needs to keep on going after the courses are complete.

Teenagers don't think the things that they do will harm anyone. This is scary as it is not uncommon to see a teen driver either on the phone or texting people while they are behind the wheel of a car. They are playing with fire when they do this type of thing. Not just with their lives, but with the other people that are out and about when they are driving in this manner as well.

There is no way that they are paying attention to driving in the way that they should be if they are doing this. Risky actions like this could prove fatal to the teen or other people that are in the area of the vehicle that they are driving. Talking on the phone is another very bad thing to do while driving. The laws are changing all the time now in regards to cell phones and many places are being firm on this kins of behavior. Hopefully this will help to bring such actions to an end.

Another high risk thing that teens are still doing without much thought is drug and alcohol abuse while they are behind the wheel of a car. No matter how stiff the repercussions are for them if they get caught it does not seem to deter them from acting this way. There are still huge numbers of people each year being killed or seriously injured due to alcohol or drug related accidents that result from teenage driving. The only good thing is that law enforcement agencies are cracking down more and more on our youngsters than they did before.

Another teenage driving risk is that most males like the thoughts of fast cars. Many young guys like the idea of road racing, another very high risk thing to do. This too has proven to be deadly in a great many situations. Speed can be fun, but it is not something that you do on a regular basis. It is like many other things in life, there is a time and a place to do it.

We all want to make sure that teenage driving remains fun and enjoyable. That is why there are so many groups that have been formed that are all trying to make sure that our young people remain safe while out on the road. They need to be commended for the time and the efforts that they give.

Why is Car Insurance so High for Teenagers?

By Amy Nutt

Car insurance can be expensive at any age. One group of drivers where the rates tend to be the highest is teenagers. If you have a teenager who is about to start driving, it is important to explain why their car insurance premium is so high.

Statistics show that teenage drivers are higher risk drivers therefore they are a higher risk to insure. Statistical research has shown that drivers under the age of 20 are three times more likely to be involved in an accident. According to the CDC, "in 2005, over 4,500 teen deaths were a result of injuries sustained during an automobile accident, and 400,000 suffered nonfatal injuries. As well, teens in 2005 accounted for only 10% of the population but were victims of 12% of fatalities caused by motor vehicle accidents."

Boys under the age of 20 are at a greater risk of getting into an accident. Statistics also show that young male teens under the age of 20 are more at risk of violating such traffic laws as speeding, and they tend to drive more at night when there is a higher risk of an accident. For young people who just start to drive, they tend to make a number of driving mistakes. Teenage drivers are twice as likely to have an accident within their first year of driving, than a driver over the age of 25. Therefore their premium reflects the risk. Lack of experience and recklessness are two of the main factors affecting the price of a teens insurance premium.

Insuring your teenager could lead to insurance rates doubling. There are a number of methods one can employ to lower a teens car insurance premium. Not all insurance companies offer the same price, so make sure that you shop around to compare insurance rate quotes. You should be aware of discounts that may be offered. Students who maintain a "B" (3.0) grade point average can often receive a savings of up 20% off their insurance premium. Most insurance companies will provide savings for a teen that completes a student safety driver program from a certified and recognized driving institute.

The type of vehicle also determines the price of the premium. New and expensive cars will result in a high premium. A teen should drive an older car and maintain a clean driving record so that when they are ready to upgrade to a newer car, premiums will not be so high.

Many parents add their children to their policy. Adding a teen to a parents car insurance policy should involve explaining the type of car incidents that can increase a car insurance premium Parents can also require that the teen pays for the increase in the premium. This will give the teen incentive to obey traffic laws to avoid any further increases in the premium. Insurance companies will also include mileage as a factor. Named Drivers On A Policy

By Graham McKenzie

In all, an automobile insurance policy will have the names drivers as those that are going to be authorized to drive the car. Many policies only contain one named driver, however, if you have a household with other adults that can drive, you might want to consider placing them on as well.

Just as anything, named drivers on the policy have their good points and they have the bad points. Having named drivers ensures that your car will only be driven by the listed individuals; if not, they do not have your consent to drive. Having multiple drivers on a policy also allows for a flexible situation. It works very well for families.

The major downside of named drivers on an insurance policy is the extra cost that is brought about when placing them on. The insurance company sees them as a greater liability for a few reasons. The main reason is that you have just increased your chances of an accident with multiple drivers. Also, they are not as experienced or familiar with your car usually. Other factors that might raise this amount are the age of the driver and the experience of the driver. New drivers have very high rates.

If there is a point in time where someone will be driving your car for a lengthened period of time, you may want to consider adding them on as a temporary named driver. It is known that some insurance policies do not have this feature, so make sure yours does before you decide to sign on the line. This usually comes in great handy for family trips, someone?s car breaking down and seasonal visitors.

It is always good to keep in mind that you are going to be responsible for the damages to your car or anyone else car if a person were to get into an accident in your car without being listed as a named driver on your policy. Moreover, you will also be responsible for any bodily harm that might be incurred because of the accident. These are all things to keep in mind; this is why insurance was created.

Taking steps to legally minimize costs associated with adding drivers on instead of letting them illegally drive your car is seem through joint policies. In other words, if a newer or younger driver is looking to get car insurance, they can opt to go onto their parent?s insurance policy. This is a common way parents lower premiums. It is also becoming largely recognized by insurance companies as well.

Another option is just the opposite. The parents can be on the new driver?s policy. Any way you have it, it still saves money because there are responsible and proven good drivers on the record. This, in turn, eliminates some risk for the insurance company from their perspective.

In all, it is very important that you take the time to shop around for insurance and carefully consider who you are going to be listing as a named driver. This is one area that deserves great attention because the consequences of not insuring properly can be disastrous.

What Is the Effect Of Car Insurance Liability Coverage?

By Susan Reynolds

The selection of appropriate car insurance policy is not all about the amount of premium to be paid. Most of us have the tendency of making our decision based on the amount of premium that we are going to pay. However, before we could even consider the amount of premium that we are willing to pay, it is important that we select the kind policy that will protect our assets in cases where we are found liable for property damages and serious bodily injuries.

When you are shopping for the right car insurance policy, it is important that you consider both the cost of the insurance policy and liability coverage that it offers. The limit of coverage is as important as buying a car. It is the main basis in determining the degree protection that the policy provides to your assets if you found responsible for property damages or bodily injuries while driving a car. Thus, your decision on the type of car insurance policy should focus not only on the amount of premium but also on coverage and limit of protection that is most appropriate for your needs and situation.

You have to understand that the basic car insurance already has the minimum liability coverage as required by law. Nonetheless, you have to understand that this liability coverage and limit may not be sufficient enough in providing you with the appropriate protection for all the risks that you have to take into account while driving your own car or a rented car. One good way in determining if you have the right car insurance with sufficient protection cover is by considering the value of the cars that you normally encounter on the road. If in your assessment the liability limit of your insurance is not sufficient to cover the cost of these types of vehicles then it is time to make upward adjustments to the liability cap of your insurance policy.

While you are considering the car insurance policy that is most appropriate for you, it is essential that you factor in your decision making process the liability coverage for car rentals if you are expecting an extensive use of rented cars. You have to discuss with the insurance company or insurance agent the cost involved for this kind of additional liability coverage. Nonetheless, you should confirm with your insurance agent if the insurance proposal include this type of liability coverage.

When you are considering the liability coverage of your car insurance company, you also have to consider if you are going to allow other individuals to drive your car. In this particular case you need to have in your policy the liability coverage for other drivers. You should remember that the insurance company will provide you with liability coverage when your car is driven by an uninsured person or an unlicensed driver. It is incumbent upon you to understand the fine prints of your policy and clarify issues with your insurance agent and the insurance company.

In cases where you are going to use your car for your business operations, you have to advise your insurance agent or the insurance provider that you have such plans. Insurance companies will normally charge additional premium to cover such business-related activities. You should also remember that not all insurance providers offer this kind of liability coverage in the insurance policies that they offer to car owners.

What is Employers Liability Insurance?

By A Nutt

Employer's liability insurance comes in three different types. There is general liability, property insurance and worker's compensation insurance.

General Liability If you have a policy for general comprehensive liability insurance, it covers you against anyone physically injury themselves or causing damage to property while on your business site.

This type of coverage is often purchased in company with property insurance (see below) for a more complete protection against any type of accident at the place where you usually operate your business or carry out business functions.

Professional Liability For some business such as retail or food services, comprehensive liability coverage is likely enough. However, professional liability coverage is vital for many, including engineers, consultants, medical professionals and accountants.

Professional liability coverage protects a professional against claims of negligence or incompetence.

Sometimes this type of insurances is called 'errors and omissions' coverage, since it protects a businessperson in the case of a mistake or incompetence in carrying out his or her professional duties.

This type of coverage is vital for a professional. Claims for negligence or other omissions can be much larger than general liability claims, as evidenced by medial malpractice suits.

Property Insurance Just as a homeowner must have basic property insurance, so too must a business. This kind of coverage is usually very straightforward.

With property insurance, your business is protected against theft or accident or any other loss of your business property. This coverage is in effect even if the equipment is not at your place of business when it is lost, damaged, or stolen.

Again, property insurance is similar to homeowners in that it covers in the case of fire or other disaster. You need to read your policy carefully to determine if it covers any flooding. That type of disaster is often excluded from coverage, as is water damage from sewer backup. Know your policy and add a rider if you think it is important to do so.

Usually property insurance is packaged with general liability insurance in a single package at a basic rate.

Worker's Compensation Insurance Worker's compensation insurance is an employer's liability insurance that provides coverage for medical or disability claims by employees.

If an employee has an accident or a job related illness, they will file a claim under worker's compensation.

Each state mandates that businesses with even one employee provide this coverage, and most have pools to help small businesses cope with the expense. It can be expensive to own a policy, particularly if a former employee or employee has a claim.

The amount of a company's premium is based on a formula calculation. The formula takes into account the services offered by your company and the payroll each pay period.

Requirements vary for each state regarding how much you need to pay into the fund. Make the assumption that you will need to pay for each employee in your business, even though there are times that you as the owner and members of your family are exempted from workers comp insurance.

Depending on your state, you may be able to shop around for the best rates and service.
